Every year, thousands of still-functional pieces of IT equipment are discarded. OPEQ gives them a second life. By entrusting us with your equipment or supporting our mission financially, you directly contribute to reducing electronic waste, helping people develop skills toward employment, and connecting the communities that need it most. Here are three concrete ways to make a difference.
DONATE YOUR UNUSED EQUIPMENT
Computers, laptops, tablets, monitors, phones, printers, and accessories. Your IT equipment can still be useful. By entrusting it to OPEQ, you give it a second life while reducing electronic waste and providing access to technology for those who need it most.

SPONSOR A TRAINEE
Make a monetary donation used exclusively to fund a trainee’s journey in one of our workshops. Every donation is entirely dedicated to covering the costs of their supervision and integration. You enable one more person to gain concrete digital skills and take a real step toward employment.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
It is simple and hassle-free.
Step 1. Fill out the online donation form. Indicate the type and quantity of equipment you wish to donate.
Step 2. Our team contacts you within 24 to 48 hours to arrange pickup or drop-off of the equipment.
Step 3. For a minimum of 60 pieces of equipment, we come to pick up the materials directly from you, free of charge. Have fewer than 60 items? Contact us at don@opeq.qc.ca to find the best solution.
Step 4. Upon request, you will receive a charitable donation tax receipt for any reusable equipment.
YOUR DATA IS SECURE
Before redistributing any equipment, we completely wipe the contents of every hard drive in accordance with the standards of the Bureau de qualification des recycleurs (BQR) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). All your confidential information, logos, and corporate identifiers are securely deleted.
For added peace of mind, you may also wipe your hard drives before handing them over. Free software such as Kill Disk or dBan can help you do so.
WHAT WE ACCEPT
Desktop computers, laptops, and servers. Tablets (iPad, Android, Microsoft, etc.). Smartphones. Monitors. Laser printers. Projectors. Keyboards and mice.
Please include all cables and adapters. This maximizes the reuse rate and allows more beneficiaries to use their equipment right away.
For Apple devices, please follow the instructions to unlink an Apple account from a device before handing them over.

THEY ALREADY TRUST US
More than 1,050 private companies have entrusted us with their equipment since our founding. OPEQ is also the designated organization for collecting IT equipment from provincial and federal government departments, para-governmental organizations, and municipalities when renewing their computer fleets.
OUR CERTIFICATION
OPEQ is audited and approved by the Bureau de qualification des recycleurs under the Electronic Products Reuse and Refurbishment Program. We are among the reuse companies selected by ARPE-Québec.
