Our Mission

OPEQ-Ordinateurs pour les écoles du Québec is committed to building a greener, more connected future through the reuse of computer equipment, fostering digital inclusion and employability across Quebec.

In the face of accelerating electronic obsolescence, we have made reuse far more than a practice: a defining commitment. Every device we collect, refurbish, and redistribute represents, all at once, waste avoided, a resource preserved, and a concrete learning opportunity for the people we support.

THREE INSEPARABLE COMMITMENTS BUILT ON COMPUTER REUSE IN QUEBEC

  1. Circular economy: by diverting thousands of tonnes of materials from landfills each year, we reduce the environmental footprint of the digital sector in Quebec, a responsibility we take seriously, reflected in our ISO 14001 certification, ICI on recycle+ Elite Level recognition, and our Circular 21 Award. Learn more about our environmental impact →
  2. Digital inclusion: OPEQ distributes reliable, affordable equipment to schools, community organizations, and low-income families. Because access to technology is a condition for equal opportunity, not a privilege. Learn more about our social impact →
  3. Pathways to employment: our refurbishing workshops give people the hands-on experience they need to enter the job market. More than 1,500 people have built their first real IT skills here, a genuine starting point for a career in Quebec. Learn more about our organization →

One refurbished computer is, at the same time, waste avoided, a young person equipped, and a community connected.
