About OPEQ – Computers for Quebec Schools

OPEQ – Computers for Quebec schools is a non-profit organization created in 1998 to manage and administer the national Computers for Schools Plus (OPE+) program in the province of Quebec.

We are an organization focused on re-employment, social integration and eco-responsible recycling.

Joining OPEQ means working in an innovative organization, always at the forefront of new projects and initiatives to ensure the sustainability of the Quebec program.

What is the OPE+ program about?

The OPE program aims to provide Canadians with an opportunity to access the digital economy.
The program supports OPE affiliated workshops across the country to refurbish surplus computers and other digital devices donated by public and private donors. After which, they are returned to schools, libraries, nonprofits organizations, Indigenous communities and low-income Canadians.
The program helps extend the useful life of devices, therefore limiting the impact of electronic waste on the environment. Young people also benefit from paid work internships where they acquire advanced digital skills.
